Let’s face it, parenting is hard. There are so many daily challenges but doing so when you are in recovery of drugs or alcohol can be a unique and at times isolating challenge. It often can leave mothers with limited support and connection. Do you need a place to explore parenting, motherhood and reconnect with yourself in a safe environment? Want to connect with other moms who are going through the challenges of staying sober and parenting? This group may be for you.
I have a passion for working with individuals in recovery and working with moms of young kids. This is an opportunity to merge these two passions and provide a space that is often neglected. Having an opportunity to be open and honest about the struggles of parenthood with peers that are understanding can be impactful and healthy.
The Moms in Recovery group is a psychotherapy and peer support group. The focus will be on exploring ones self, understanding how you want to parent (with psychoeducation on positive parenting strategies) and sobriety. The only requirements are that you are a mom with young kids (at least one child is 9 and under) and have at least 6 months of sobriety. If this groups sounds like something you are interested in, please contact me to set up a phone intake via the contact form. A minimum of at least 6 people will be needed to open the group. We will meet 2x/month on Monday evenings. The cost of the group is $40. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
